The Fuji Electric PXF4AER2-0VSA1 is a self-tuning 1/16 DIN (48 x 48 mm) compact temperature and process controller with a 50 ms sampling speed. The 50 ms sampling rate means the controller updates its output faster than the typical thermal time constant of most process heaters, so it catches overshoot before the temperature drifts past the setpoint. Per the datasheet, the self-tuning algorithm adapts PID parameters during ramp-up, which saves the commissioning engineer from manual loop tuning on a new oven or extruder barrel zone.
