A 50 ms sampling speed means the controller updates its input reading every 50 milliseconds — fast enough for most thermal processes (ovens, furnaces, packaging heat-seal bars) but not intended for sub-cycle power control. Self-tuning capability lets the controller automatically calculate PID parameters during startup, reducing commissioning time on process loops where manual tuning would be trial-and-error.
