What it is and what it does
The Fuji Electric PXF5ABE2-FVGA1 is a self-tuning 1/8 DIN (48 x 96 mm) compact temperature and process controller with a 50 ms sampling speed. It is designed for closed-loop control of temperature or process variables in a panel-mount format. The 50 ms sampling rate means the controller updates its control output and display every 50 milliseconds, which is fast enough for most thermal processes (ovens, furnaces, packaging seal bars) and many slow process loops (pressure, level, flow). For faster applications like injection molding or thin-film heating, you would want a controller with a 10 ms or faster sample time.
Integration notes
The 1/8 DIN cutout (45 x 92 mm) is the standard panel opening for this class of controller. The 48 x 96 mm bezel fits the same hole. Mounting hardware is typically a panel clamp or bracket; verify the depth clearance behind the panel before cutting. The self-tuning algorithm automatically sets PID parameters during the first heat-up cycle. On a retrofit, expect the first batch to run slightly over- or undershoot until the autotune completes. For processes where the first good part matters (e.g., medical device sealing), pre-load the PID values from the old controller if available.
