Controller integration note
The PXF5ABY2-MBCA1 is a self-tuning 1/8 DIN (48 x 96mm) compact temperature and process controller from Fuji Electric. Its 50ms sampling speed means the loop update is fast enough for thermal processes with moderate dynamics — think plastic extruder barrel zones, packaging heat-seal bars, or HVAC duct reheat coils — but not for sub-cycle power control. The self-tuning algorithm auto-derives PID gains on the first ramp-to-setpoint, which saves the commissioning engineer a manual Ziegler-Nichols iteration on each zone.
The 1/8 DIN (48 x 96mm) cutout is the industry-standard panel-mount footprint for single-loop controllers. It fits the same hole as every other 1/8 DIN controller on the market — no adapter plate needed when swapping brands. The 50ms sampling is the cycle time the A/D converter and control algorithm run at; it determines how tightly the controller can respond to a load disturbance. For a process variable like temperature that changes in seconds, 50ms is effectively continuous — the controller sees every meaningful transient.
