The 1/8 DIN (48 x 96mm) form factor is a standard panel cutout size — it fits the same 45 x 92mm panel opening as any other 1/8 DIN controller, so swapping in a failed unit from another brand usually requires only a wiring re-termination, not a panel rework. The 50ms sampling speed is the time between measurement updates; for a temperature loop, that is fast enough to respond to a heater cycling on a 5-second time constant, but not so fast that it triggers noise on a thermocouple input.
