The Fuji Electric PXF5AEA2-FVMA1 is a self-tuning 1/8 DIN (48 x 96 mm) compact temperature and process controller with a 50 ms sampling speed. That 50 ms update rate means the controller catches fast thermal transients—think injection molding nozzle temperature or thin-film extrusion—where a standard 100–200 ms controller would lag and overshoot. Self-tuning automates PID gain scheduling on startup, so you don't need a laptop to commission it; the algorithm learns the process dynamics during the first heat cycle.
Mounting and integration into a panel
The 1/8 DIN footprint (48 x 96 mm panel cutout) is a standard panel-mount form factor. Panel depth is tight—verify clearance behind the cutout for the controller body and wiring duct. The 50 ms sampling places a premium on clean thermocouple or RTD input wiring; run the sensor pair in a shielded twisted pair, grounded at the controller end only, to keep VFD hash out of the measurement. If the loop powers an SSR, keep the AC power wiring at least 100 mm away from the sensor input to avoid coupled noise.
