The 1/8 DIN form factor (48 x 96 mm) fits standard panel cutouts, so it swaps into existing temperature controller slots without panel rework. Self-tuning means the PID loop automatically adjusts gain, integral, and derivative terms during the first heat-up cycle — useful when the thermal load changes between product runs. Sampling at 50 ms gives the loop controller enough bandwidth for electric heaters or valve actuators in process lines where a 100 ms or 200 ms controller would lag.
