What it is and what it does
The PXF5APE2-FBMA1 is a self-tuning 1/8 DIN (48 x 96mm) compact temperature and process controller from Fuji Electric. It samples the process variable every 50ms, which is fast enough for most thermal loops — plastic extruder zones, oven zones, packaging seal bars — where you need tight regulation without overshoot. The self-tuning algorithm sets the PID terms on first run, so commissioning a new line doesn't require a control engineer to dial in gains manually.
Panel fit and integration
The 1/8 DIN cutout (48 x 96mm) is a standard panel-mount footprint — it fits the same hole as any other 1/8 DIN controller, so swapping an older unit or specifying this into a new panel takes the same cutout and bezel clearance. The 50ms sampling speed means the controller updates its output faster than most thermocouple or RTD input modules can respond, which keeps the loop stable on fast-acting electric heaters or gas-fired burners.
