What it is and what the sampling speed means
The PXF5APS2-0BMA1 is a self-tuning 1/8 DIN temperature and process controller from Fuji, packing a 50 ms sampling speed into a compact 48 x 96 mm panel-mount package. That sampling rate matters out here in the grease because it catches fast thermal transients — think injection barrel zones or thin-film extrusion where a 100 ms lag lets a spike run past the setpoint. A standard 250 ms controller would overshoot; this one keeps the loop tighter.
Integration notes for a panel install
Mounts in a standard 1/8 DIN cutout — 45 x 92 mm panel opening, clips in from the front. The self-tuning algorithm means you don't need to hand-tune PID gains on startup; let it cycle through a couple of setpoint steps and it dials itself in. Keep the thermocouple or RTD input isolated from power wiring in the backplane to avoid injecting noise into that 50 ms sample window.
