What the 50ms sampling and self-tuning mean on a 1/4 DIN face
The 50ms sampling speed means the controller reads the input and updates the output every 50 milliseconds — fast enough for most thermal processes (ovens, extruders, packaging seal bars) where the time constant is seconds, not milliseconds. The self-tuning algorithm automatically sets PID parameters during the first heat-up cycle, which saves the panel builder from manual loop tuning. The 1/4 DIN (96 x 96mm) cutout is the standard panel-mount size for process controllers in North America and Europe. It fits the same panel hole as every other 1/4 DIN controller, so swapping an older unit into an existing cutout requires no rework of the panel or gland plate.
