Panel fit and signal integrity
The 1/4 DIN cutout (92 x 92mm panel opening) is the standard for process controllers — it fits existing panel punch-outs without a conversion bezel. The 96 x 96mm body leaves room for terminal blocks and a gland plate in a typical enclosure. For a clean signal in a noisy plant, keep the thermocouple or RTD input wiring separated from AC power and drive cables inside the panel. The 50ms sampling loop will respond to noise on the input lines as if it were a real temperature change, so shielded twisted-pair is worth the extra terminator.
