50 ms sampling — what it means for a process loop
The PXF9AES2-MVCA1 samples the input every 50 ms, which sets the minimum update interval for the PID loop. For a thermal process with a time constant of several seconds, 50 ms is fast enough to catch transient overshoot without aliasing; for a fast pressure or flow loop, it keeps the control bandwidth above the process dynamics. Self-tuning means the controller runs an autotune cycle on startup — it applies a step change to the output, measures the process response, and sets the PID gains without an operator entering Ziegler–Nichols coefficients. This matters when the controller is swapped into a line with no tuning record.
1/4 DIN panel cutout — the physical fit constraint
The 96 x 96 mm face (1/4 DIN) fits the standard panel cutout of 92 x 92 mm per IEC 61554.
