Sourcing a panel-build position sensor
The Omron SS-1GL2-ET-4 is a subminiature snap-action limit switch from the SS family, used on machinery and equipment where a compact plunger- or lever-actuated position feedback device fits inside tight operator guards and sub-assemblies. As a limit switch it provides the mechanical-to-electrical interface a control circuit needs to detect end-of-travel, part-present, or door-closed conditions on automated equipment.
How the SS line typically lands on a bill of materials
SS-series subminiature limit switches are panel-side components: the actuator is mechanically linked to the moving part of the host machine, and the switch body is fixed to a bracket or surface near the actuation point. The compact form factor is what allows the SS line to fit where a full-size industrial limit switch will not — inside small doors, narrow guards, and on light-duty transfer or indexing mechanisms common to packaging, semiconductor, and laboratory equipment.
