What the 50 kA breaking capacity means for your panel
Mounting and integration into a standard enclosure
The breaker occupies 9 module pitches (81 mm wide, 137 mm high, 80 mm deep) and mounts to a backplate — not a DIN rail — in either horizontal or vertical orientation. Front-facing connection terminals accept compression lugs or busbars; the connection pitch is 35 mm with spreaders or 27 mm without. That 9-module footprint is the first thing to check against your enclosure's gland-plate layout and phase-busbar centres. IP40 front-of-panel protection is fine for general-purpose indoor distribution; IK07 impact resistance handles the occasional tool bump during commissioning.
What the TM-D trip unit and 100 A rating govern
The thermal-magnetic TM-D trip provides fixed overload protection (thermal curve) and short-circuit magnetic pickup. Power dissipation is 7.5 W per pole — 22.5 W total at full load — so account for that heat in a sealed enclosure.
Electrical and mechanical endurance
Rated for 20,000 mechanical cycles and 20,000 electrical cycles at 440 V at rated current (In/2 duty — switching half the rated load). The breaker is category A — no intentional short-time delay, so it trips instantaneously on magnetic pickup.
