It's built for DC isolation in photovoltaic arrays and marine DC distribution — the DC-22A and DC-PV2 utilisation categories tell you it handles motor and PV string disconnection, not just resistive loads. The 8 kV impulse withstand (Uimp) and 3.5 kA short-time withstand (Icw for 1 s) give it real fault-clearing headroom for a 100 A device.
The 1500 V DC rated operational voltage (Ue) and 1600 V DC rated insulation voltage (Ui) are the headline numbers. For a DC switch, voltage is the hard limit — DC arcs don't self-extinguish at zero-crossing like AC, so the 1500 V rating means the arc chutes are sized for that. The 100 A rating holds across both DC-22A (general motor disconnection) and DC-PV2 (photovoltaic string isolation) duty, so you don't derate switching between load types.
Fixed-mount on a backplate, 140 mm wide × 161 mm high × 86 mm deep. Front connection both sides — busbars or cable lugs land on the same plane, which keeps the panel layout clean. Connection pitch is 35 mm, standard for 4-pole DC switchgear. No visible break, but the contact position indicator gives positive confirmation of the open/closed state. IP40 enclosure (no tool access to live parts) and IK07 impact resistance — fine for a cabinet interior, not for direct washdown.
