Motor protection breaker with magnetic-only trip
It is designed for motor protection, providing short-circuit (magnetic) protection only — no thermal overload element, so an external overload relay handles the motor's thermal curve. The 85 kA Icu at 500 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2 means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream cascading, which is critical for high-fault panels feeding motor circuits. The 3-pole configuration (3P) with front connections suits backplate mounting in motor control centers.
The C25V3MA220 carries an HB1 breaking capacity code: 85 kA Icu at 500 V AC, 80 kA at 525 V AC, and 75 kA at 690 V AC. For a motor branch circuit, this high interrupting rating allows selective coordination with downstream contactors and overloads — the breaker clears a fault before the upstream feeder device trips, keeping other loads online.
IP40 enclosure protection (IK07 impact) suits clean indoor panels — not rated for washdown. The toggle control provides manual on/off and trip indication.
Rated for 20,000 mechanical cycles and 20,000 electrical cycles at 440 V In (10,000 at 440 V In, 5,000 at 690 V In). Power dissipation is 14.52 W per pole, which matters for panel thermal budgeting when multiple breakers are ganged.
