Overview
The HMIBSCEA53D1EDM is a Schneider EcoStruxure EV Charging Expert EV charge controller, order code HMIBSCEA53D1EDM, rated for 100 managed charge points across 50 charging stations with dynamic load management. The unit is now discontinued by Schneider, with an official end-of-life date of 2026-01-01.
As the central controller for an EV charging network, the HMIBSCEA53D1EDM manages the overall energy allocated to each vehicle using dynamic load management. It supports up to 20 zones with 4 zone levels, allowing prioritised charging profiles, time-of-use settings, PV integration, BEMS integration via API, authentication via badges, and transaction logs. Communication uses Ethernet RJ45 Cat.6 to connect to charging stations and a modem for the central management system. The OCPP version is JSON. An optional 3G/4G modem and meter device are ordered separately.
Applications
This controller is designed for commercial and semi-public EV charging installations — parking lots, fleet depots, workplace charging, and multi-unit residential buildings — where dynamic load balancing across multiple stations prevents grid overload while maximising throughput.
Schneider discontinued the HMIBSCEA53D1EDM with an end-of-life date of 2026-01-01.
