The SOL40ROTE is an extended rotary handle accessory for the EasyPact Solar MCCB 400 range, used to remotely operate the circuit breaker from the front of an enclosure. The 250 mm shaft length gives clearance to mount the handle through a gland plate or door while keeping the breaker body inside the panel — common on solar combiner boxes and DC distribution boards where the breaker sits deep behind a sealed compartment. Rated IP54, the handle assembly withstands dust ingress and splashing water, so it can be mounted on the outside of an outdoor-rated enclosure without a secondary cover. The grey handle accepts 1 to 3 padlocks in the OFF position, providing lockout/tagout (LOTO) capability for safe maintenance isolation.
Integration notes for panel builders
The extended handle mounts on the front of the enclosure, with the 250 mm shaft reaching back to the breaker's rotary mechanism. Verify the shaft length against your enclosure depth and door thickness before specifying — the handle body itself adds roughly 30 mm of projection beyond the mounting surface. The IP54 seal relies on the gasket between the handle base and the enclosure wall. For outdoor or washdown installations, ensure the cutout is clean and the mounting screws are torqued evenly to maintain the seal rating.
