The D4SL-N4QDA-D locks a machine guard closed until the PLC or safety controller explicitly de-energizes the solenoid — a mechanical lock that holds 1300 N and only releases when the coil is energized. This is failsafe by design: loss of 24 VDC keeps the guard locked, so a wiring fault or power loss does not open the safety circuit on its own. The 6-contact array (3 NC + 2 NC/1 NO) routes the lock status and guard position to separate safety channels so a single contact failure cannot defeat the monitoring function.
24 VDC coil, indicator, and wiring fit
Both the solenoid coil and the indicator lamp run at 24 VDC, so a single 24 V field supply powers the entire switch — no step-down or isolated bus needed. The terminal block connection accepts field wiring directly without a mating connector, which simplifies panel wiring on a DIN rail or subpanel but means conductor sizing and torque specs must match the terminal spec to maintain the IP rating of the assembly.
