800 A MCCB with integrated energy metering
The Schneider Electric C080N32EFM is a ComPacT NS new generation 3-pole moulded-case circuit breaker rated 800 A at 50 °C, with a MicroLogic 2.0 E electronic trip unit that combines overload (L) and instantaneous short-circuit (I) protection with an embedded energy meter. The 85 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC — 50 kA at 415 V — covers high-fault utility feeds and transformer secondaries without needing a current-limiting upstream device. Fixed-mount, front-connected, backplate-supported; the 210 mm width and 327 mm height fit standard ComPacT switchboard cutouts.
At 690 V the Icu drops to 30 kA, so verify the system voltage before committing the BOM line. The 15 W power loss at rated current is low enough that forced ventilation is not required in a standard IP40 enclosure, but the 0–95 % humidity range and pollution degree 3 rating mean it is suited for industrial environments, not sealed or condensing atmospheres.
Fixed-mount on a backplate with front-connect busbars — the 70 mm connection pitch matches standard ComPacT NS630b–1600 busbar systems. The LCD display and four red fault-indication LEDs plus one yellow overload LED are visible through the IP40 front cover. Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles; electrical durability ranges from 2,000 cycles at 690 V In to 6,000 cycles at 440 V In/2, which covers routine switching of downstream loads in distribution duty.
