The C10S2TM030 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX100S circuit breaker — a 2-pole, fixed-mount thermal-magnetic breaker rated 30 A at 40 °C. This is a Category A breaker (no intentional short-time delay), designed for distribution duty — not motor starting or high-inductive switching. It's built to EN/IEC 60947-2, so it's suitable for isolation (the standard requires the open contacts to visibly disconnect the load). The TM-D trip unit uses a thermal bimetal for overload protection (L) and a magnetic coil for short-circuit protection (I). That's the standard thermal-magnetic pairing — no electronic adjustments, no earth-leakage module on this variant.
Breaking capacity — what the S rating means for your panel
That's the highest available for the NSX100 frame at that voltage — the standard F and N ratings top out lower. At 220/240 V AC it jumps to 100 kA Icu; at 690 V AC it still holds 10 kA Icu. For DC applications, it delivers 100 kA Icu at 250 V DC (1-pole) and 500 V DC (2 poles in series). If you're on a 50 kA system, the F-rating would suffice — but the S gives you margin for future upgrades or utility changes without swapping the breaker.
Mounts flat on a backplate (DIN-rail adapter available separately if you need it). Fixed-mount, 2-pole, 70 mm wide, 161 mm tall, 86 mm deep. Front connections both top and bottom — standard for panel wiring with busbars or cable lugs. IP40 enclosure protection keeps dust and accidental contact out; IK07 impact resistance handles the occasional dropped tool in a panel. Horizontal or vertical mounting position, flat on the back.
Durability and thermal performance
Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles; electrical durability is 20,000 cycles at 277 V at half rated current, and 10,000 cycles at full rated current. Power dissipation is 4.03 W per pole — relevant for panel heat calculations when you're stacking multiple breakers in a closed enclosure.
