The C250H3FM is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NS2500H new generation basic frame — a 3-pole, fixed-mount, manually operated circuit breaker frame rated for 2500 A at 50 °C. It carries no integral trip unit (protection type: without protection), so it's a bare frame you pair with a separate control unit for overcurrent and short-circuit protection. The H breaking capacity code means 85 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC 50/60 Hz, with a 125 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC. That's the interrupting rating for the frame itself; the final SCCR depends on the control unit installed.
The frame's Icu at 415 V AC is 85 kA, and its Ics (service breaking capacity) at the same voltage is 64 kA — 75% of Icu, which is standard for Category B utilization under IEC 60947-2. That means after clearing a fault at 64 kA, the frame is still serviceable without immediate replacement. The Icw (rated short-time withstand current) is 32 kA for 3 seconds, giving downstream breakers time to clear a fault before the main frame trips. For a 2500 A main in a distribution board feeding multiple feeders, that coordination window is what keeps a downstream fault from blacking out the whole board.
Physical integration and mounting
Fixed mounting on a backplate — no DIN rail for a frame this size. Dimensions: 350 mm high, 420 mm wide, 160 mm deep. Connection pitch is 115 mm between pole centers. The IP40 front face (IK07 impact rating) suits it for indoor switchboard installation where personnel access is controlled. The front face is Class II insulated — no protective earth connection needed on the operator interface.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2. Rated insulation voltage 800 V AC, rated impulse withstand voltage 8 kV, overvoltage category III. Power losses at rated current: 100 W. Compliance documentation (declaration of conformity, IEC test certificates) is available from Schneider's product documentation portal.
