60 mm planetary gearbox — 15:1 reduction, 44 N.m continuous
The GBX0600151002F is a 60 mm diameter planetary gearbox from Schneider Electric's GBX series, with straight teeth and a 15:1 reduction ratio. It delivers 44 N.m continuous output torque at 100 rpm and 30 °C, with a maximum of 70 N.m under the same conditions. Rated service life is 30,000 hours at rated load, and the unit is lubricated for life — no scheduled oil changes in the field.
Torque, backlash, and stiffness — what the numbers mean for fit
Continuous torque of 44 N.m (389.4 lbf.in) at 100 rpm is the design point for sizing. The maximum torque of 70 N.m (619.6 lbf.in) is for peak loads — don't run continuously at that level. Both figures are at 30 °C ambient; derate for higher temperatures. Maximum torsional backlash is 20 arc.min — this is standard precision for positioning applications where absolute accuracy isn't critical. Torsional rigidity of 2.5 N.m/arcmin tells you how much windup you get under load; at full continuous torque, expect about 17.6 arcmin of deflection. Efficiency is 94 %, so 6 % of input power becomes heat. For a 44 N.m output at 100 rpm (about 460 W output), that's roughly 28 W of heat to dissipate through the black anodized aluminium housing.
Shaft loads and environmental sealing
Maximum axial force (Fa) is 450 N for the full 30,000-hour life, or 600 N if you accept a shorter 10,000-hour life. Radial force (Fr) at mid-shaft is 340 N for 30,000 hours, 500 N for 10,000 hours. Both at 100 rpm and 30 °C — higher speeds reduce these limits. Shaft output seal is rated IP54 — splash-proof but not submersible. The housing is black anodized aluminium, shaft material is C45 carbon steel. Noise level is 58 dB at 1 m, no-load — quiet enough for most production floor environments. The straight-tooth design is inherently noisier than helical, but at this size and speed it's acceptable.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Schneider Electric lists the GBX0600151002F as obsolete. This gearbox is available through independent surplus and new-old-stock channels. Quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ — no stock-holding claim is made here.
