The GS2SB4 is a TeSys GS switch-disconnector-fuse from Schneider Electric, rated for 630 A at 400 V AC-23B and 500 A at 500 V AC-23A. It handles motor and resistive loads in distribution panels, providing visible isolation and fuse protection under load. Rated operational power reaches 355 kW at 400 V and 400 kW at 690 V, making it suitable for large motor circuits and feeder disconnects. The 4-pole configuration (4 NO contacts) isolates all phases plus neutral.
For DC circuits, the 400 A DC-23A and 630 A DC-23B ratings (2 poles in series per phase) cover battery banks and DC motor drives. Breaking capacity is 5040 A at 400 V AC-23B, with a making capacity of 6300 A at the same voltage. The short-circuit withstand rating of 70 kA means the switch can survive a fault on the line side without welding contacts — critical for coordination with upstream breakers. The IP20 terminal cover protects against finger contact but is not sealed; mount inside an enclosure for washdown environments.
Plate-mounted, not DIN rail — the 458 mm width and 300 mm height need a backplate cutout. Power terminals accept bars up to 63 mm² or ring lugs for 2×150 mm² or 2×300 mm² cables. Tightening torque for the power circuit is 44 N·m. The handle can be mounted directly on the front, externally on the right side, or externally on the front — useful for door-interlocked enclosures. Electrical durability is 1000 cycles under AC-23A/B load, mechanical durability 8000 cycles — plan for periodic replacement in high-cycle applications.
Designed to IEC 60947-3 for switch-disconnectors. Fire resistance meets 850 °C on the fuse cover and 960 °C on the body per IEC 60695-2-1.
