Power stage and output ratings
The LXM05CD22N4 delivers 2 kW nominal power at a 4 kHz switching frequency, with a continuous output current of 9 A at 4 kHz or 7 A at 8 kHz (cite:,). That 8 kHz mode quiets the motor but costs you 22% of the continuous current — budget the derating if your application runs at high carrier frequency for acoustic reasons. Transient overload capability is 14 A for 3 s at 8 kHz, or 16 A for 3 s at 4 kHz — enough to handle a high-inertia acceleration or a momentary jam without tripping the drive (cite:). The line current draw is 5 A at 480 V or 6.3 A at 380 V, which sets the minimum rating for your upstream branch circuit protection (cite:).
Supply and panel integration
The integrated EMC filter saves a panel-mount filter and the associated wiring — the drive meets conducted emission limits for the industrial environment as shipped (cite:). The maximum prospective line short-circuit current is 5 kA; your upstream breaker's interrupting rating must equal or exceed that for the SCCR to hold (cite:). Inrush current peaks at 60 A — not a problem for a C-curve MCB, but a B-curve may nuisance-trip on power-up (cite:).
Schneider Electric has classified the LXM05CD22N4 as obsolete (cite:). If the BOM line is frozen and you need a supported alternative, we can discuss the Lexium 32 or Lexium 28 families as a functional replacement, though the mounting footprint and fieldbus interface differ.
