BACnet gateway for ATV212 — now obsolete, sourced on request
The VW3A21315 is a BACnet communication card designed for Schneider Electric ATV212 variable speed drives, letting the drive talk BACnet MS/TP on a building automation network. Schneider has marked this card obsolete — no direct replacement from the factory.
What the BACnet card actually does on the network
It supports BACnet standard profile B-ASC with read/write property requests, plus binary inputs, analog inputs, binary outputs, analog outputs, and binary values — covering the objects a BMS needs to monitor and command the drive. Transmission rate is configurable from 9.6 to 76.8 kbps, matching typical MS/TP bus speeds in HVAC and process building networks. The physical connection is a 4-way removable screw terminal block — standard for daisy-chaining the RS-485 bus through the drive enclosure.
Diagnostic feedback for commissioning and fault finding
Two LEDs on the card face: one green COM LED for data exchange activity, one red ERR LED for fault indication. The graphic display terminal also shows valid and invalid frame counters — useful during BACnet bus commissioning to spot wiring or baud-rate mismatches.
