The SICK WL9-P132 is a photoelectric reflex switch that detects objects up to 2.5 m away when paired with the PL80A reflector. That range covers most conveyor divert gates, pallet presence checks, and packaging-line jam detection within a standard bay width. The visible red LED makes alignment straightforward during commissioning — you see the spot on the reflector. Runs on 10-30 V DC, nominal 24 V, and switches PNP light/dark. The IP67 rating means the housing and cable entry survive washdown — suitable for food-and-beverage or outdoor covered conveyor lines. Cable connection — no M12 pigtail to lose or replace. The cable exits the sensor body; route it through a PG9 or similar gland into the junction box. Spring-cage or screw terminals on the receiving end accept 0.2-2.5 mm² wire. The PNP output sources current to the PLC input; verify the load side is referenced to 0 V DC.
