The SICK WL9L-3P2232 is a photoelectric retro-reflective sensor from the W9 series, using a red laser emitter to detect objects at up to 12 m. It switches a PNP output at 100 mA, with a 500 µs response time, and operates on 10–30 VDC. The laser beam gives a tight, well-defined spot for precise detection of small targets or through apertures — useful on packaging or assembly lines where a standard LED beam would scatter. The housing is rated IP66, IP67, and IP69K, meaning it withstands high-pressure washdown and temporary submersion — suitable for food-and-beverage or washdown environments. The M8 4-pin connector keeps wiring clean and allows quick swap without opening the panel gland.
At 12.2 mm wide and 49.8 mm tall, the WL9L-3P2232 fits into tight machine frames or alongside other sensors on a common bracket. The M8 connector exits the rear, so plan for a 4-pin female cordset with a 90° or straight head depending on clearance.
