The SICK WS/WE150-P430 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor from the W150 series, delivering a 4.4 m sensing range with a visible red LED light source. The PNP output switches at 0.5 ms, making it fast enough for part-present detection on a conveyor or pick-and-place station where cycle times are tight. Rated IP67, the sensor body and optics handle washdown environments — suitable for food processing or packaging lines where hose-down cleaning is routine. The M8 4-pin connector simplifies replacement: unplug the old head, plug in the new one, no rewiring at the terminal block.
The 4.4 m through-beam range covers most machine guarding and part-detection gaps in a small-footprint line. Because it's through-beam (separate emitter and receiver), it offers the highest immunity to dust, fog, and misalignment of any photoelectric topology — if the beam is broken, you know it. Operating voltage spans 10 V to 30 V, so it runs on a standard 24 VDC control supply without a regulator. The 100 mA load current handles direct connection to a PLC input or a small relay coil without an interposing amplifier. Light / Dark ON switching (selectable) gives you flexibility: wire it for light-on to detect the presence of an object, or dark-on to detect a gap or missing part. The 0.5 ms response time means you can run the line at moderate speeds — roughly 1200 parts per minute at 4.4 m — without missing a detection.
At 10 mm wide and 28 mm tall, this sensor fits into tight panel cutouts or extrusion slots where space is at a premium. The through-beam pair mounts on opposite sides of a conveyor or machine opening, aligned with the beam path. No separate mounting bracket is needed for most standard T-slot profiles. For outdoor or freezer applications, check that the ambient stays within that band.
