Sensor and range
The SICK WSE12-3P2431 is a through-beam photoelectric sensor from the W12-3 series, using a visible red LED light source to achieve a sensing distance of 20 m. This range suits applications where the emitter and receiver are mounted on opposite sides of a detection zone, such as on a conveyor line or at a warehouse door opening. The PNP output switches a load up to 100 mA, and the response time is 330 µs, which is fast enough for counting parts at moderate line speeds or for detecting objects on a moving belt without missing a target.
Environmental rating and connectivity
Rated IP66, IP67, and IP69K, the sensor body and optics withstand high-pressure, high-temperature washdown cycles, making it suitable for food-and-beverage processing lines or outdoor installations exposed to hose-down cleaning. The M12 male connector (4-pin) provides a quick-disconnect interface, simplifying replacement without rewiring the cable run. The housing measures 15.6 mm wide by 48.5 mm high by 42 mm deep, fitting into standard 15 mm slot-mount brackets common in the W12 family. Operating temperature spans -40 °C to +60 °C, covering cold storage and heated production areas alike.
