The SICK WTB2S-2P3110 is a photoelectric proximity sensor from the W2S-2 series, using background suppression to detect objects reliably at a fixed distance up to 18 mm, with a minimum sensing distance of 1 mm. The visible red PinPoint LED makes alignment straightforward on a conveyor or pick-and-place station. PNP light-ON output switches at 400 µs, fast enough for counting small parts at moderate line speeds. The 7.7 mm wide housing fits tight spots on a DIN rail or machine frame where every millimeter of panel space is accounted for.
The 18 mm sensing distance is the maximum range to a white 90% reflective target; real-world range drops with dark or matte surfaces, so the 1 mm minimum gives you a usable window for glossy black parts or shiny metal. Background suppression means the sensor ignores objects beyond the set distance — no false triggers from a machine frame or a passing hand behind the target zone. The 400 µs response time translates to detecting a 10 mm part moving past at roughly 25 m/s before the output misses it.
Panel and wiring fit
The 7.7 mm wide body is the narrowest in the W2S-2 family. On a DIN rail, it occupies a single slot pitch, leaving room for additional sensors or a terminal block in a crowded enclosure. The 200 mm pigtail with an M8 3-pin connector reaches a nearby junction box or a pre-wired M8 splitter; if the cable is too short, an M8 extension cord adds length without re-terminating.
