The WTB4S-3P2232 is a SICK W4S-3 photoelectric proximity sensor with background suppression. The 120 mm maximum sensing distance (4 mm minimum) means it reliably detects objects at a fixed cutoff point, ignoring background surfaces past that threshold — useful on conveyor or pick-and-place stations where you need to see the part, not the belt or fixture behind it. The 500 µs response time lets it catch parts moving at moderate line speeds; the PNP output switches 100 mA, enough to drive a PLC input or small relay directly.
