MCCB with shunt trip and communication — panel-builder's note
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA2140-7MQ36-0JA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 40 A continuous at 40 °C, with no derating needed up to 70 °C — the thermal curve holds flat across the full operating range. The interrupting ratings climb to 330 kA at 240 V, 242 kA at 415 V and 440 V, 187 kA at 500 V, and drop to 3.7 kA at 690 V. That SCCR headroom at the lower voltages makes this breaker a strong choice for high-fault-capacity main or feeder positions in a panel. It carries a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping, plus communication function and phase failure detection built in — no separate accessory module needed for those monitoring features. The 86 mm depth by 105 mm width by 181 mm height footprint fits standard SENTRON 3VA2 panel cutouts.
Dimensions and panel fit
Physical envelope: 86 mm deep, 105 mm wide, 181 mm tall. These match the standard 3VA2 molded-case breaker footprint, so a panel already cut for a 3VA2 frame accepts this unit without rework. The 3-pole width of 105 mm means it occupies roughly 4.1 inches of DIN-rail or mounting-plate space.
