Reader for the RF600 System
The Siemens 6GT2811-0AB00-0AA0 is a fixed UHF RFID reader in the RF600 family, designed to read EPCglobal Class 1 Gen 2 / ISO 18000-6C transponders over an 8 m range, extendable via the RF600 System Manual's range table. It connects to Ethernet networks through a push-pull RJ45 interface, making it a straightforward drop into a plant's control network for tracking work-in-progress, pallets, or tooling. Operating in the 865–868 MHz band (EU UHF allocation), the reader's transmit power is adjustable from 50 to 1000 mW, letting you dial in the read zone to match the conveyor width or storage aisle without blasting interference across the line. The IP65-rated aluminum/ABS GF20 housing holds up to the steam and washdown cycles common in tire curing and food processing environments — no secondary enclosure needed for wet areas.
I/O and Antenna Configuration
Four digital inputs and four digital outputs (M12, 12-pin) let you wire external presence sensors or stack lights directly to the reader, avoiding a separate I/O slice in the panel. The reader supports up to four external antennas via RP-TNC connectors, with cable runs from 1 m to 40 m per antenna. Each antenna port can deliver up to 2000 mW ERP, so you can cover a wide gantry or multiple read points from a single reader.
Power and Environmental Ratings
The reader runs on 24 V DC (20–30 V range) via a 4-pin M12 power connector. Typical draw is 0.45 A; peak inrush hits 2 A — factor that into your 24 V supply sizing, especially if multiple readers share a power feed. Operating temperature spans -25 to +55 °C; below -20 °C, a 10-minute warm-up is required before reliable reads. Storage and transport range is -40 to +85 °C. Shock resistance is rated at 500 m/s², vibration at 200 m/s² per EN 60068-2-27 and EN 60068-2-6, so it survives the press-side hammering in a tire plant.
Mounting and Physical Fit
Mounting options are four M6 screws or a VESA 100 pattern with four M4 screws — standard 100 mm × 100 mm VESA, the same as many industrial displays and panel PCs. Dimensions are 252 mm high, 193 mm wide, 52 mm deep. The housing is aluminum with an ABS GF20 front bezel, color silver/anthracite. Silicon-free construction means it won't outgas contaminants in paint booths or coating lines.
