The Siemens 6GT2811-3BA00-1AA0 is a UHF RFID reader from the RF600 family, operating in the 902–928 MHz ISM band (FCC-compliant for North America). It reads passive transponders out to 8 m, with extended ranges possible per the RF600 System Manual. The IP65-rated aluminum/ABS housing (silver/anthracite) withstands washdown and dust ingress, so it mounts directly on a conveyor frame, portal, or warehouse rack without an extra enclosure. Connectivity is via a push-pull RJ45 for Ethernet and an M12 4-pin for 24 VDC supply (20–30 VDC range, typical draw 0.45 A, max 1.5 A). Two digital inputs and two digital outputs on an M12 8-pin handle local triggers or indicators. An external antenna connects through an RP-TNC port, with cable runs from 1 m to 40 m.
Environmental and mounting considerations
Operating temperature is -25 to +55 °C, with a note that below -20 °C a 10-minute warm-up is required. Storage and transport range is -40 to +85 °C. Shock resistance is tested to 500 m/s² per EN 60068-2-27, vibration to 200 m/s² per EN 60068-2-6 — robust enough for conveyor-adjacent mounting. Mounting uses four M6 screws or a VESA 100 pattern with four M4 screws. The housing is 252 mm high, 193 mm wide, 52 mm deep — a compact footprint that fits under a conveyor or on a bracket. Silicon-free construction is specified for paint-shop or sensitive coating environments.
