The Omron D4GS-N4T-5 is a slim-profile tongue interlock switch from the D4GS series, designed as a key-operated safety door switch for guarding applications. Its IP67 rating means the switch body and the prewired cable entry withstand washdown environments — suitable for food processing, packaging lines, or any area where hose-down cleaning is routine. Contact configuration is 3NC (slow-action), which provides three normally-closed safety channels. In a safety circuit, NC contacts are the fail-safe choice: if the door opens or the switch fails, the circuit breaks and the guarded machine stops. The slow-action mechanism ensures positive opening per IEC 60947-5-1, meaning the NC contacts are forced open by the actuator, not spring-dependent. Actuator entry is vertical key insertion, so the switch is mounted to accept the key from above — typical for hinged doors where the key approaches vertically as the door closes. The 5 m prewired cable (Prewired conduit size) eliminates the need for a separate connector or field wiring, reducing installation time and potential leak points in the seal.
