20 mm shielded sensing in a washdown-rated barrel
The E2A3-M30KS20-WP-C2 2M: The shielded construction means the sensor can be flush-mounted in metal without derating the sensing distance — no dead zone around the barrel face.
NPN-NC output and switching speed
Output is NPN normally-closed, 3-wire — the NC configuration means the output opens on target detection, which is the fail-safe wiring convention for safety interlocks and conveyor jam detection. Supply voltage spans 10 to 32 VDC, so it runs directly on a standard 24 VDC industrial bus without a regulator. Switching frequency is 80 Hz. At that rate, a ferrous target moving past the sensor face at 1.6 m/s produces one output pulse per millimeter of travel — adequate for counting and position sensing on moderate-speed lines, but not for high-speed spindle or cam timing.
