The Omron E2C-EDR6-F is a high precision positioning inductive proximity sensor for magnetic metal targets. It has a slim 0.6 mm sensing distance and delivers a repeat accuracy of 1 µm. The standard sensing object is a 5 × 5 × 3 mm iron (S50C) block. Current consumption is 10 mA max; insulation resistance is 50 MΩ min at 500 VDC.
What the 1 µm repeat accuracy buys you
That 1 µm figure is the headline for this sensor head — it positions to a micron, not a millimeter. For gauge verification or stage alignment, the variable hysteresis (not a fixed number) means you dial in the deadband via the connected amplifier. The sensor itself is the head; the amplifier module sets the output logic and threshold.
