Omron E2E2-X2Y2 is a shielded inductive proximity sensor from the E2E2 series, M12 threaded barrel, 2-wire AC, NC output, with a 2 mm sensing distance. IP67 rated with brass body and nickel plating; prewired with 2 m cable. Supply voltage 20-264 V AC—no DC rating, so this sensor goes into AC control circuits exclusively.
2 mm shielded sensing distance lets you flush-mount the 12 mm barrel into a metal bracket without derating. The shielded face also reduces false triggers from side metal. Use this on close-proximity targets—ferrous metal only; non-ferrous derates further per the datasheet. 2-wire AC output simplifies wiring: just two wires in series with the load, 200 mA max. But note that the load must be impedance-matched for the AC off-state leakage—small PLC inputs may not drop out cleanly. The indicator light helps during commissioning. Temperature range -40°F to +185°F covers most industrial enclosures. NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 12, 13 ratings confirm it for washdown and occasional submersion (IP67). Good for conveyor wet sections or outdoor Gulf Coast installations.
