The Omron E2E2-X5Y1 is a shielded M18 inductive proximity sensor switching 20-264V AC loads up to 300 mA, NO contact, 2-wire AC. Prewired with 2 m cable, bare wire ends. Rated IP67 and NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 12, 13 — fits washdown zones and outdoor cabinets. Brass body, nickel-plated, with cable protector and milled wrench flats.
Storeroom stand-in check: E2E2-X5Y1 vs. E2E2-X5Y1-US
The US variant (E2E2-X5Y1-US) shares the same M18 shielded body, 5 mm sensing distance, and 20-264V AC 2-wire output. It ships with mounting hardware, but its temperature range is -13°F to 158°F vs. the -40°F to 185°F on the standard Y1. If your panel sees freezer temps or outdoor cold snaps, keep the standard Y1 on the shelf — the US one won't hold at -40°F. For a NC-output replacement, use E2E2-X5Y2 — same form, same wiring, normally closed contact.

Mounting and wiring notes
M18 threaded barrel, shielded face — mounts flush in steel. 2 m prewired cable, bare wire ends, 2-wire AC. No polarity on AC but watch load current stays between 5 mA minimum and 300 mA maximum. Nickel-plated brass body resists corrosion in wet or washdown areas. Use the milled section for a wrench to tighten without damaging the threads.
