The E2EGX5MB1: The Omron E2EG-X5MB1 is a 12 mm diameter inductive proximity sensor with a 5 mm sensing distance, rated IP67 for washdown environments. It switches at 200 mA on a 24 VDC supply, with a selectable NPN or PNP normally-open output — one part covers both sinking and sourcing logic levels.
Sensing and fit
The 5 mm rated sensing distance is specified against a 15 x 15 x 1 mm magnetic-metal target. In practice that means it detects ferrous objects at that range; non-ferrous metals will reduce the gap. The 12 mm threaded barrel drops into standard M12 mounting holes — no adapter needed for existing proximity-sensor brackets on conveyor lines or machine guards. IP67 means the sensor body and cable entry withstand hose-directed water and temporary immersion — suitable for washdown zones in food processing or machining coolant splash. The 2 m cable exits with three wires (brown/blue/black); no separate connector body to maintain.
