The Omron E2K-C25ME1 2M is a capacitive proximity sensor — unshielded, with a 25 mm sensing distance, NPN voltage-current output rated 0 to 200 mA, and a pre-wired 2 m cable. That's the line of sight for the panel-builder: it picks up conductors and dielectrics through non-metallic walls, so you mount it flush or through a plastic tank wall. The red detection indicator gives a quick visual on state change.
What matters for the BOM
Rated 12 to 24 VDC with an operating range of 10 to 40 VDC — that's the typical PLC supply, so it drops in without a separate power module in most control cabinets. Power supply reverse polarity protection and a surge suppressor are built in. The 15-turn sensitivity adjustment lets you dial in the range between 3 and 25 mm, handy for different material densities or target sizes. Standard sensing object is a grounded metal plate 50x50x1 mm.
