Omron E2K-X4ME1 Capacitive Proximity Sensor, 4mm, NPN

The Omron E2K-X4ME1 is a 12 mm cylindrical capacitive proximity sensor — no mechanical contact, detects plastic, glass, wood, or metal. The key for a midnight startup: no sensitivity adjustment needed. It's factory-set to a 4 mm sensing distance, so you pull it out of the box, wire the three leads (brown/blue/black), and it works. That's one less trim pot to chase. Rated 10-30 VDC, NPN normally open output, switching up to 200 mA. The unshielded face gives a full radial detection zone; you don't need a metal-free zone behind the sensor. IP66 rated, so it handles washdowns in food or packaging lines. Prewired with 2 m of cable, bare ends, ready for a terminal block. Use it where you need to sense non-conductive materials — plastic bottles, cardboard, wood pallets, or liquid levels through a tank wall. The IP66 and NEMA ratings let it live in wet environments without a separate enclosure.
