What it is and what drives the fit
Omron E2S-W25 is an inductive proximity sensor in the E2S family, delivering a PNP normally-open output. The 2.5 mm rated sensing distance sets the gap for ferrous targets; the actual usable range runs 0–1.9 mm, which is the repeatable switching zone for installation. PNP output pulls high when a target enters the field, matching the input logic of most modern PLC sink modules. Housing measures 8 × 7.4 × 20 mm in polyacrylate, so it fits into tight mounting brackets or machine frames where larger barrel sensors won't go. Cable exit is pre-wired — no connector to source separately.
