2 mm diffuse-reflective — what the range means on the line
The Omron E3C-DM2R 2m is a photoelectric diffuse-reflective sensor with a 2 mm sensing range — that is the distance from the sensor face to the target at which it reliably detects the presence of an object. The standard object for calibration is a 1×1 cm target, so the 2 mm range is the working gap for small parts or edge detection, not a long-range presence sensor. It comes with a 2 m cable for connection, which simplifies wiring in tight panel or machine locations where a separate connector adds bulk.
