What it is and what it does
The Omron E3G-L32 is a distance-setting photoelectric sensor. That means it detects objects within a defined range of 50 to 200 mm and ignores anything beyond that—useful when a conveyor belt or machine frame sits behind the target. No background suppression tweaks needed: set the distance, and it locks onto the object in that window. Output is PNP (sourcing), switchable between dark-on and light-on via a physical selector. You don't need to swap wires or reprogram; just flip the option to match whether you need a signal when the part is present (light-on) or absent (dark-on).
Signal in, noise out
Operates on 10 to 30 V DC, draws maximum 65 mA. Temperature range -25 to 55 °C, housing in PBT.
