The Omron E3T-FD11 is a diffuse-reflective photoelectric sensor in the E3T family, built for part-presence and position sensing on compact machinery. It detects objects from 5 mm to 30 mm using a red LED emitter, switching NPN (light-on) with a 50 mA maximum load. The rectangular PBT body measures 12 mm wide by 24 mm tall by 4 mm deep, with a right-angle sensing face and a 2 m prewired cable terminated in bare wires. Rated IP67, the housing handles washdown and dust without a secondary enclosure. Supply voltage is 12-24V DC, standard for industrial control panels and PLC I/O power rails.
Sensing range and output
NPN output sinks current to ground, so it drives a PLC sinking input directly — no pull-up resistor needed. The 50 mA maximum load covers the input impedance of most digital input cards, but do not plan to drive a relay coil or solenoid directly from this sensor.
The 2 m prewired cable is bare-wire terminated — no connector to lose or corrode, but you are committed to the cable length. Mounting the 12 mm × 24 mm × 4 mm body in a tight space is straightforward; the right-angle sensing face lets the sensor sit flush to a bracket while the beam exits perpendicular to the mounting surface. Three built-in protections — output reverse polarity, output short-circuit, and power supply reverse polarity — reduce the chance of a blown sensor from a wiring mistake during commissioning or maintenance.
