Photoelectric sensor for DC control circuits
The Omron E3Z-D82K 2M is a diffuse photoelectric sensor with a PNP output, running on 12-24V DC. It detects objects up to 1 m away using an infrared LED, and comes prewired with a 2 m bare-end cable. The IP67 plastic body handles washdown environments without a problem. Output is PNP sourcing — switches positive to the load, common for PLC inputs. The sensor is selectable for Light On or Dark On operation, and an indicator confirms output state. Response time is 1 ms, fast enough for most conveyor and packaging lines. Built-in output short-circuit protection, output reverse polarity protection, and power supply reverse polarity protection save a downstream diode and fuse. Maximum load current is 30 mA — handles a standard PLC input card directly.
