Active production — what that means for your BOM line
The E3Z-D86: Sourced to order against your quantity; availability confirmed at RFQ.
5–100 mm diffuse reflective — what the range actually covers
Diffuse reflective sensing means the sensor detects light reflected directly off the target — no separate reflector or receiver needed. The 5–100 mm range is the working distance from the sensor face to the target surface. The IR light source (infrared) is less prone to false triggering from ambient visible light than a red LED sensor. That matters on a conveyor line near windows or overhead lighting. At 30 mA max current consumption, the sensor draws well under 1 W from a 24 VDC supply — negligible load on the control transformer or power supply.
Connector termination — no pigtail to manage
The E3Z-D86 terminates via a connector, not a pre-wired cable. That means you choose the cordset length and type (straight or right-angle, shielded or unshielded) at panel build, rather than having a fixed pigtail to route through the gland plate.
