The Omron E3Z-T81-L 2M is a through-beam photoelectric sensor from the E3Z series. It projects an infrared beam at 870nm over a 15m sensing distance, making it suitable for long-range object detection in conveyor lines, pallet handling, and automated material flow. The housing withstands high-pressure washdown and dust ingress, so it mounts in food processing or wet areas without an enclosure. Supply voltage is within the rated range, the cable connection provides 2m of wire, and the single-turn adjustment simplifies alignment. Response time is 1ms.
Through-beam requires an emitter and receiver aligned across the sensing gap. The infrared beam is invisible; use the alignment indicator during setup. The IP69K rating holds only when the cable gland is properly tightened. Operating temperature range of -25°C to 55°C covers most indoor and outdoor installations without derating.
